Best of 2009: New Food

I used to hate olives. With a passion.

As in, from the very pit of my being.

Then something happened.

And I’m pretty sure that something rhymes with “mirty fartini”.

Don’t get me wrong….I still don’t like black olives.

But holy shit. Those big green ones, or small green ones, stuffed with blue cheese or simply floating in vodka.

Sorry it took me so long…

Olive you.

I used to dislike green olives as I never had much of an appreciation for bitter foods. Then I took a trip to Spain and found myself thoroughly enjoying their plentiful green olives while I sat in a sherry bar. Go figure.

And black olives are awesome (especially on pizza or tacos), what's wrong with you girl? ;)

(Actually, green olives are good on pizza too, so long as you don't choose many other salty toppings. They're also pretty tasty with scrambled eggs or omelets, if you do it right.)

You know what is funny? I have always loved black... And only started liking green since I was pregnant. Seriously.
  • Greebs, I can't even begin to fathom the pregnancy cravings that I have in store for me.

I'm glad you came around- they really are DELECTABLE.
  • Is this your subtle way of telling me I should drink gin martinis?
  • Sooo weird! I just had a Bombay Martini for dinner... Dismissed as coincidence!
