I hate global warming as much as the next person…

but I do love the 60-degree weather that it brings in January. We’ve been taking advantage of the completely unnatural temperature rises warm tidings by heading out to a few of our favorite local trails.

It’s been fun being back out there, but we realized that it’s not so much fun trying to get Eli to stay in the hiking backpack that he used to love. He made it all of 5 minutes in there before he wanted out.

So we let him walk on the trail. And by walk, I mean that he took a few steps, bent down to examine a leaf, picked up a handful of rocks and then threw himself in a pile of dirt to pretend swim.

Yep.

I guess I should have seen this coming. Since we may have gone all of a half-mile in an hour this past weekend, I don’t predict big hiking trips as a family this summer.

Quality. And cuteness.

Not quantity.

The main takeaway of our hiking adventure?

He is ADORABLE. The weather has been totally fab these past couple days. Thought I’ve really done nothing to enjoy it.
    Happy Wednesday!

Thanks Megan. If we don’t get outside, we all get a little cranky. It’s just so nice not to have worry about bundling up in January. Although it’s also a little weird.
