but I do love the 60-degree weather that it brings in January. We’ve been taking advantage of the completely unnatural temperature rises warm tidings by heading out to a few of our favorite local trails.
It’s been fun being back out there, but we realized that it’s not so much fun trying to get Eli to stay in the hiking backpack that he used to love. He made it all of 5 minutes in there before he wanted out.
So we let him walk on the trail. And by walk, I mean that he took a few steps, bent down to examine a leaf, picked up a handful of rocks and then threw himself in a pile of dirt to pretend swim.
Yep.
I guess I should have seen this coming. Since we may have gone all of a half-mile in an hour this past weekend, I don’t predict big hiking trips as a family this summer.
Quality. And cuteness.
Not quantity.
The main takeaway of our hiking adventure?
